There are many challenges, when we are dealing with a Global SAP BI system and four different regional SAP BI systems. Many things can go wrong, with regards to data load. Data reconciliation can be nightmare. There has not been a tool in the market, which supports data reconciliation for such a matrix landscape. Not sure why. There are plenty of large IT companies in the market, who are perfectly capable of producing a data reconciliation tool. There may be some already available in the market, but they are not certainly visible.
Therefore I proposed a custom tool, which is automated and can do the job for data management team. I proposed this to the data management team of a large corporation in 2011. I ever prepared a prototype for them to believe what I was talking. There were not many buyers at that time. I finished my assignment in early 2013 from the project and moved on. I hear my proposal picked up momentum later in 2013 and it was implemented with great success at the corporation. To the extent, I hear some people are making an independent product out of it and offer to other clients who have implemented SAP BI.
